Lionel Browne. Lionel started his musical life on the university circuit in the 1960s. He first teamed up with Phil playing bass in the Free Electric Band in the 1970s, and then went on to record for Pye with folk group Brightwinter. Over the years he’s played in numerous club and function bands, as well as doing session work with show-biz greats such as Jack Parnell and Roy Castle. His first encounter with country music was with Canadian singer/songwriter John Ede in the River Bottom Band, touring the South of England and playing at the prestigious Americana festival. After a brief sojourn with rock and soul in Rhedd, he came back home to country with Fat Cat. Lionel likes to get it right, which is the Fat Cat way of doing things.
